FIRST BAPTISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Elder Hunt got his first baptism yesterday! We are so incredibly proud of him:) As you can see by these pictures he is so happy, and definitely has the light of Christ. He absolutely loves doing the lords work and we know he is putting his all into his service.

Benetton's First baptism Alberto!

Hey Family,
Well what an amazing week it was!!! we had so many amazing things happened and the lord truely blessed us thats for sure!! The temple was absolutely amazing! its really gorgeous inside and i actually felt like i was in america because everyone that works there is from america except like one or two people and then every piece of the temple except a few things is from the USA!!! ya baby!! haha i actually got to use a urinal that works and flushes automatically!! haha everything was so clean and pure and we got to participate in all the 5 ordinances in the temple. Elder Larsen and I did confimations and sealings which was cool because it was first time thing for me to do sealings and then of course we did a session. Not gonna lie when we were watching the sealings all i could think about was my eternal family one day and i just pictured me and kels on the altar. haha but we worked really closely with the temple president which was really cool cause that doesnt happen in the temples at home. The session was the most difficult cause everything was in spanish obviously!! but they have headphones to translate, the hardest part is actually doing everything is spanish. haha but it turned out great!! afterwards we went to the church distribution center and its pretty much the time for missionaries to just splurge! haha i bought a bunch of church dvds for 2 mil which is the equivalent to like 50 cents. haha and then a bunch of BOM in guarani which were only one mil. it was way sweet!! after that we went to lunch at a place next door and as we ate we saw some other americans there talking. One of the guys look just like doug glendenning buch a little older!! it was crazy!! haha So anyways the week was really good after that and when we went to go visit Alberto (this is the guy that we were supposed to baptize awhile ago) he said that he was ready and didnt want to wait until the 30th of this month for his baptism. So guess what.... We did it on Sunday!!! i will get to that a little later. Here is some of the things that i wrote down to share for the week. I have a feeling this is gonna be a really long email. haha So in front of our house they ripped up the road and people were working on it. After about 15 minutes of work of couse they stopped to drink terere for 30 minutes. We timed them and they stuck to that schedule for the whole day!! haha it was hilarious! Then one of our members that we have been working with who was inactive has satelite! i walked in and he was watching survivorman! haha i wanted to watch so bad!! haha Oh ya so how is cody doin in the mish?! i havent heard anything about him lately. So here there is just a random person in like every family that has super blonde hair and blue eyes naturally or is a red head. Its really weird! ha oh ya by the way i took out 65.00 dollars from my account. Well 60.00 and then the charge to use the machine. So lots of woman here do the whole balance everything on their heads! its crazy how much they can hold on there!! if they are doing that though they are straight up guarnai indians! haha also we had the opportunity to give a new member a blessing. Hermana tina and it was a great blessing and the whole time she jsut kept saying oh ya i got faith!! haha So here mcdonalds is like a 5 star resturant! i am not kidding they do like everything for you and are super quick and everything is fresh and its just the same food as USA but better cause it hasnt been sitting under a heat lamp since the day before. So we had a lesson that was super far away from our house, and when we finally finished we were trying to make it home on time and the lord blessed us. Around the corner came the bishop and he gave us a ride home! what a tender mercy. haha so this week i got a crazy strong craving for cinnamon rolls! I want some so bad but they dont exist here and you cant really send them so i will just have to be patient! they would be so good for breakfast though! maybe you have an easy recipe mom? So this week we also had interviews with the president. It is such a great experience and is like a super recharge to your missionary batteries! ha we talked about my first change here and how everything was. I love interviews! haha president is great and helps you sooo much!! So it rained pretty much all week here and this guy with a truck like dads old blue toyota truck just was flying through the mud like it was a baja! it was so sick and reminded me of playing that game with dad and preston on the N64! I saw sign this week well more like a giant banner for a party... it said ¨fiesta de cerveza¨ which translates to BEER PARTY!!! everyone here is just a bunch of drunks! and its always on sundays. We had proof of that last night, there was a accident in front of the chapel a few hours after the baptism. It was crazy cause here everyone comes to the scene and gets right up in the face of the people on the ground dying and then just stands there. There was probably 200 people jsut all in the way of the police and the ambulances. Ambulances here are all privately owned so it has nothing to do with the city of state like at home. We were all joking around after at the pension that one of the people that was in the crash when they asked them what was wrong or what they needed they said cerveza! haha or beer! Also this week we met a family who has 17 kids!! look out duggars here they come!! its insane here how they just pop them out like nothing! Then we taught a family and the husbnd talked like he was mario or luigi! it was hilarious and it took all i had not to just laugh my head off!! We then went to a gas station after to buy some snacks and it made me think of all the times that me and jimmy or kelsey or preston made late night runs to maverick to buy stuff like that or get a red box!! ya i was a little homesick/trunky that night!!! Ok well i think thats all the little things that i wrote down as reminders. I got your dear elders at interviews and they made me sooooo happy!! kelseys letters totally cheered me right up and i coudnlt stop smiling!! she is so dang cute and adorable!

Your the best!! i love you!! ok so now to the most important thing! the baptism! haha so we prepared a really special baptism, we made brownies and i played a special song outta that music book granpa bought me, and members showed up to support him. haha so as i got ready to baptize him i thought for a second about the ordinance and all the words in my head were in english!! i dont know why but then i looked out and realized that everyone was a paraguayan and that i had to say it in spanish!! haha i did it though and it was perfect. We finished the baptism with a testimony meeting real short and then refreshments. Afterwards we went to his house and visited with him and he told us that he felt like the old Alberto left him and he is a new better Alberto!! it was so spiritual and the the spirit was so strong during the day!! and especially the baptism. I talked to his wife and she told me that missionaries have been working with him for 7 years!!! i then knew why i was called to serve the people here! The gospel is such an amazing thing and i am so blessed with it! We had stake conference yesteday and boyd k packer and russel m ballard talked to us! i understood pretty much all of it and they were really powerful talks!! I have pictures attached of the baptism. and then a few others from asuncion in the temple and stuff. I sure do love you guys so much! i really wish you could experience what i am experiencing! preston this is the best thing ever and i really wish i would have left earlier cause the work of the lord is the best thing we could be doing!! plus i really dont wanna have to wait a super long time for you to get home so we can do things together! haha i love ya man and think about you all the time!! i know that there is some family out there just waiting for you to bless them and their posterity for time and all eternity!! My goal for this family is to take them to the temple and be sealed for time and all eternity! that would be amazing! Hannah how is school going? thanks so much for your letters! they make me so happy! it sounds like you are gonna have alot of fun for halloween and i cant wait to see pictures of you and your costume! i really wish i could take you trick or treating! but i promise i will as soon as i get back! they dont really have halloween here like at home so your really lucky. Ashton, hows soccer buddy? sounds like you are quite the stud in the back and your team is just owning everyone!! Keep it up and i cant wait to get back and play with you! i sure do miss you and hannah and preston alot! i think about you all the time!! Sounds like you had a really great experience at state cup dad and i am sure you guys could have taken them in the finals!! next year your name is all over it! seems like finishing is what always kills us! haha anways thanks for all your help and love. Hey Fam!!!
Well its been a really strange week thats for sure. Some ups and downs and a couple bumps in the road but everything is great now. I am super super excited to go to the temple tomorrow!! We will leave tonight for asuncion at 1AM!! ya it totally sucks cause sleeping on the bus is horrible but they have tvs and we can watch movies on the bus so we are gonna have them put on the joseph smith movie all about his life and the restoration!! haha its gonna be so good! haha its a good opportunity to spark peoples interest and find new people. We should get to asuncion at like 6-7 am and i have no idea what we are gonna be doing while we are not at the temple. Usually the session is at 9AM i guess and i think we have interviews with the president too. I really hope we do cause i am excited to talk to him again and tell him how everything has been going!! Anyways the pedometer is working great and its fun to see how much we really walk in the day, obviously our bodies can feel it but its fun to know the amount! its usually on average of about 12-15 miles every single day, sometimes less just depending where all our investigators are that day. It has been really rainy and gloomy the last few days, well it actually started thursday and really hasnt stopped until last night. There is like a pattern here and about every fourth day it starts over. The rain comes in slowly and then will storm really hard for like a day and then after that it blows away and everything is super soaked and muddy and then dries out with the blazing sun! it makes it even worse because everything is wet so its SUPER HUMID!! thats really the thing that makes it hot here is the humidity! Its constant and never ending. As for food and groceries and all that i am eating like any other missionary would! haha alot of cereal in the morning, TONS of fruit, and then i have been eating alot of top ramen and hot dogs. The cereal is limited to frosted flakes or fruit loops, but the milk is really good here!! LUCKILY!! the fruit is super cheap too, we live above a ¨despensa¨ which is basically like a mini market place with a little of everything. They are EVERYWHERE here but its nice cause we can just go down when in whatever we are wearing and buy stuff from him. I eat tons of bananas, they are SO much better here! I can buy like 20 bananas for like maybe 1 dollar if that! So breakfast is always good, i have been eating alot of eggs and bacon too cause that is really cheap at the super market we live by. Anyways i totally have had some crazy dreams this week, one of them i was back home and we were all at kelseys house and dad and kelly announced that he went in with richens!!! haha it was crazy! thats all i can remember though, then i had a couple dreams about kelsey at aunt stephs house, but i am saving those for her to read in her letters that she gets from me. We had a homeless boy contact us this week who is about 16 and his parents died and he doesnt have any documents or anything. We tried to help him the best we could... it was funny cause even here we are just called out by ¨hey los mormones!!¨ or the mormons! haha but we never saw him again after that. Oh ya if you could print all my emails and just keep them somewhere for when i get him it would be a nice addition to my journal! ha Thanks! I was thinking what i will do is when i get back i will print out my whole entire blog at like costco and make it a book that people can read!! This part is for kelsey... i got a letter this week from mallory jones! it was really uplifting and helpful so tell her thanks for me! it was totally unexpected thats for sure and i really wasnt sure who it was from at first. haha so all the motorcycles here consist of SUPER SUPER LOUD exhaust, they actually make them here to sound like a gun shot when you rev the engine alot. its super annoying and stupid but everyone thinks it is so cool?!?! they even put pegs on the motos like you would a bike in the states. makes no sense to me cause i never ever see anyone riding on them. So a real delicacy here is a little rice/milk cup. They cook the milk with tons of sugar and then add rice... then cool it and after eat it together! ya i usually throw up a little in my mouth cause the two things just do not combined at all! But all latin america i guess loves it! They say oh its SO RICO!!!!¨ which translates to basically super good and rich. They wouldnt know a rich tasting thing if it slapped them in the face! nothing here has flavor like the states... they dont really have cakes here. they just make bread and call them cookies or cake and everyone thinks it is super rich?!?! haha if they had like a chocolate chocolate cake from costco they would die on the spot i know it!!! oh ya another thing here is that ALL the dogs are crossbred with weiner dogs! So they are super fat long and cant do anything cause they will break their backs! its hilarious to see!! Oh ya one thing that would be great and super helpful when you send another package or someone else is going to send one could you send gatorade powder to make gatorade. Its SUPER expensive here! and if i had the powder i could just make it. Dad knows what it looks like. Thanks! but no rush on it at all! You have already sent me alot! I really hope that my packages are at the office when i get there tomorrow!!! So could you please ask becky if spencer got my letter? i sent it back in the mtc but i have never heard back from him. Thanks. Oh ya so people here all have TERRIBLE cataracts!!! and its because no one can afford to have them fixed... i have seen one opthalhmologist in asuncion but no one can afford it and insurance DOES NOT EXIST HERE!!! haha so after about 65 its worthless to try and teach them cause they cant read squat! haha Oh ya hows sister anderson doing? could you ask kelsey for me and ask her to visit her again with jimmy? thanks. So when i get back i am going to refurbish the scooter so please dont sell it!! i want it way bad and i am gonna make it all new! Its on my list of things to do when i get back... ya i have a list... i will just get the most random thoughts and i right them down when i get them. I dont focus on it just only when i get the thoughts. So dont worry i am not distracted about home. Another interesting thing here is that any place that sells more than like $200 dollars a day here in merchandise has a thing called a guardia in front of it or in it, or both. That is basically a security guard but they hold these HUGE 12 guage shotguns with tons of ammo and a hand gun too! all to protect a tiny little rinky dink basically oversized concession stand!!! hahaha So the other day my companion basically felt like he didnt have the spirit with hime anymore and felt bad about something and had no desire to go to the temple. I have no idea why but it was really a combination of that and him being trunky. He didnt wanna do anything and said he had a headache so he slept while we had comp study. So i study with the other elders. Finally at planning that night we talked and he said i feel like i dont and cant feel the spirit. I was not in the mood to his is pity story cause really there was nothing wrong with him cause he is fine now and nothing has changed!! i think he was more just trunky. But saturday when we were finishing planning in comp study cause he didnt want to that night he was still the same... so i asked him what he wanted to do and he said lets play a game. So we played like 5 games of dominoes and he was fine after that. Ya i know we were a little disobedient but it helped him and our teaching was back to normal and not his slothful quiet self he had been the last few days. Well as i said it just rained like crazy and when it does it makes me just wanna be in my pajamas inside watching movies!!! ugh i miss movies!! ha but saturday we had a little party after planning, it was SO SICK!! the neighbor had his car just blasting with music in spanish and then it changed and he had a cd with all oldies of the USA!! me and elder hall opened the window and just sat on the couch in peace!! finally something close to america, he played ABBA, REM, Queen another one bites the dust, Every breath you take, Girls just wanna have fun, and others!! i was in heaven!! hahaha were gonna pay him to do it every saturday night!! haha jk So we were at a members house and we walked in the room to sit down and he was watching soccer... well i had to watch for a sec to see who was playing, yea as you know it is my weakness!! haha but i saw RONALDO!!! ya from brazil... he is STILL PLAYING!! he is on a brazilian team called guarani... and guess who else is on the team with him dad? yea ROBERTO CARLOS!! ha how crazy is that? they are both fat and outta shape but still love the game!! haha you should check it out. So we had the 1st counselor in the bishopric accompany us to some lessons and when we got in his car it smelt just like all the cars that grandpa or anthony have worked on... that mechanicy smell!! it just reminded me of grandpa and anthony and jason so much!!! i get those kinds of flash backs all the time and remind me of things at home. We had a burracho or drunk contact this week and he started acting like a tribal man from madagascar, it was hilarious!!! he was going off in guarani like crazy and we were laughing so hard!! well thats been my week of events, we taught some really good lessons, we had some slow days and some GREAT days where we taught like 10 lessons!! yay us!! haha and we have a couple of baptismal dates for the 30th of this month so i hope they stay! the one guy we were supposed to baptize last week is more than likely gonna be on this date for sure. But i am not gonna get my hopes up like last time. But thanks for all of your support and your love! i love you all so much and i hope that everything is going good.! Benetton

Walked and Walked and Walked.

As I read this last letter it made me think of that song... And I would walk 500 miles and I would walk 500 more just to be the man who walked a thousand miles to fall down that should do... Then popped in.. Pioneer children sang as they walked and walked and walked... haha Any way sounds like he is doing good :) He really would love some dearelder letters so please if you have a spare minute I know he would love to hear from all of you :)

Well its only been a few days so not a whole lot has happened... yes i have been using my pedometer everyday and recording how many steps and miles we walk everyday in my journal to add it all up at the end of my mission. Lets just say that it got put to really good use on friday and saturday!!!! Between the two days we walked over 30 miles!! and over 50000 steps! the worst two days of my whole mission cause all we did is walk like pioneers for hours and i hate that cause then i just have tons of time to think in my head about home and everyone and what they are doing and how kelsey is and how much i miss her and everyone. I was praying like crazy and it seemed like i was just losing my faith cause we couldnt find any of our investigators at their houses and everyone was sleeping during ciesta!! but finally sunday we had a REALLY good day and taught alot with a member who is preparing for his mission and is doing his papers right now... it was really helpful cause we have a new investigator who is really good and interested but only speaks guarini so he helped us TONS!!! It sounds like dad had tons of fun at vision expo... haha and i really really hope that some dude didnt just jew him into buying crappy computers and software!!! I REALLY WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE!!!!! oh well i am where i am supposed to be i know! It sounds like you are doing really good in state cup so far and hopefully you can continue to have success. Speaking of soccer today we played on a big synthetic field with our zone... it was way way fun and of course i totally work everybody!! haha they all ask me if i play and what my club is and all the latinos are just dumbfounded that i am so good! haha well enough bragging about me.... ya i got prestons email and i will be writing him back right after this. This is not going to be a very long email cause its only been a few days but next week for sure will be great and full of all kinds of stuff!!! If you get all the packages sent out ASAP i will most likely be able to get them by the 19th when we are in asuncion for the temple!!! there is really nothing else that i need at this point but if i think of something i will let you know. I will probably be taking some money out of my banking soon to buy some custom leather scripture cases with designs and stuff but i will let you know when i do and how much i took out so its all correct and you guys know that it was me. I got all my dear elders today and it sounds like hannah and ashton are just living the perfect life right now with soccer and school and everything that is going on!! i cant wait to come back and play with them and be the big brother that they look up too and take them more places and spend more time with them!! Hannah and Ashton we are going to have ALOT of fun when i get back!! thing of somethings that you wanna do with me and i will not hesitate to do them. That goes for everyone!! i wanna do stuff with everybody!! haha i got to watch all of conference so that was really really good!!! i LOVED IT!! but i gotta write grandma and preston back so that is all for this week.I love you all! thanks for all your support and love!! your always in my prayers! Well i dont even know what to say.... I CANT BELIEVE YOU FINALLY DID IT!! haha but I REALLY lIke IT!! ITS REALLY DIFFERENT thats for sure and i think it will just take a little getting used to cause my love has always been blonde! but i really do like and if you like it that is all that matters baby!! i am glad you got my letters and are super happy!! its really really nice to see your sexy smiling face and i LOVE THE pictures!! How did i find such an amazing girl like you honey!!!!!! I love you and i cant wait to hear that you got more of my letters!! I miss my baby and i cant wait to see and hear more of you!! I think overall that is a good reaction :) I expected it to take a little time to get use to but in time I think he will :)

The Amazing Spoken Words of our Prophet :)

Mom and Family,
Well this week has definitely been SUPER LONG!!! As you know are usual pday is on mondays but since it was a change week this week we dont have pday until thursday (today) so it made the work super long and my body is exhausted! i am so glad that it is finally here and we can buy food and just rest and DO NOTHING!!! hahaha even though the week was really long it was also a great week simply because of the AMAZING SPOKEN words of our prophet and leaders in the church. I learned sooo much this conference... its crazy to think that this is the first time that i have ever watched all the sessions and took notes and paid super close attention. I felt the spirit so strong and learned so many things that i can apply personally in my teachings here on my mission and even more things that i can apply as a normal person for my life to come for my family! I cant believe that i have missed out on so many wonderful sessions of conference simply because i was lazy or just thought there was better things that i could be doing in that moment... as great as conference was it definitely does not compare like conference at home. Waking up to the smell of fresh crackling bacon in the morning and a nig breakfast with family and friends!! Then being able to lay down and relax on a REAL couch that actually has padding and a real blanket with tons of junk food, treats, and stuff to drink! I really cant wait to do that once i am back... It will just make conference that much better being with my whole family having a good time!! So here are some of the things that happened this week, first we had special changes for a few days while all the district and zone leaders and trainers all went to a meeting in asuncion. My companion was Elder Urmston, he is from bakersfield california and had about 5 days left in his misison when we were together! He really was a super great misisonary, he was the AP and opened up 4 new areas in the misison. I learned ALOT from him and he was a great example for me to model my mission after. We tought alot of great families, and overall it was a great experience. We had a little bit of confusion because i was told that we were in my area first so i didnt pack anything for after district meeting, and he thought we were in his area first so he didnt pack anything either. So i headed out to Santa Rita in his area without any change of clothes or anything. I bought a toothbrush and thats it. haha so needless to say i wore the same dirty nast clothes for a few days. haha but thats ont important.... we tought a family that only spoke portugese... suprisingly i could understand them pretty well... we told them about how we had the oppurtunity to listen to the prophet this weekend and invited them to come with us. It was so spiritual and such a testimony builder because after we said that he looked at his wife with tears in his eyes and said " he talked with god and now he is going to talk with us"!! it was amazingly powerful! After that we taught a lesson and we sat on bricks the whole time... that was interestingly fun?? hahaha one thing that i learned from elder urmston is how to bum rides when we need to travel far distances instead of walking!! haha the 2nd day in his area we had a ton of lessons plans and we needed to reach our goal so we ended up bumming 2 rides... one to the super far appointment and one back! it saved us tons of time and we were able to teach more and exceed our goal!! Speaking of walking, i got all of your packages!!! Anytime a person has to go to asuncion for something like that big meeting they will bring packages back... so they brought them all back for me!! i have them all stashed in my closet waiting for halloween and christmas... the only thing that i opened was my pedometer cause kelsey said i could in a dear elder! haha she described the shape and stuff so i knew exaclty what it was when i felt it. I am really excited to open them when time comes about!! Hopefully if you get my garments sent out fast enough we are going to the temple on the 19th of this month i can pick them up when i am there!! so lets pray for that! haha some more things that happened while i was in Santa Rita were, there pension is like brand new cause its a totally brand new area and it totally smells like the dustins house and all i could think about was there house and how i wanted to be there drinking a cherry slurpee and riding in the mustang or making smores by the fire pit or swimming in the pool just chilling and having a good time. One of the investigators that we taught there was golden!! we asked him what his goals were for life and what he desired and he simply said i just wanna live with my family forever!! Too bad he is not in our area! haha i saw super funny commercial this week for makeup here... they caked on this nasty looking face makeup that seriously just looked like mud... they were trying to rub it in forever but it was just so greasy and nasty and then they continued to rub it all in on here calves to try and make her look tanner i guess?? paraguayans and there crazy inventions!! So as you know we have lunch with the members every day and one the of the sisters knows that i dont like beans so she made me something special while everyone else ate bean soup!! haha i am spoiled!! haha oh ya i wont need you to send me a the ensign cause we will get it in district meeting next month. Also after distric meeting this week we found out about changes.... my prayers were answered and nobody in our pension was changed!!! lucky me! its been raining quite a bit here about every third or fourth day.. the streets are just rivers and then the next day they are just muddy swamps!! We make the best of it and try to have fun and not be totally miserable while tracting. haha my rain jacket works great and so does my umbrella so thanks alot mom for that!! your the best! you put so many things in my bags that i have used that have helped me SO MUCH!! i got my dear elders after our meeting and i love to hear everything that is going on. Of course i love to hear from kelsey cause i cant email her and she always has great stories about her days and spiritual experiences so i love her letters and reread them all the time!! they give me a boost in the work when i am feeling down. I get letters from jana and hear all about how michael is doing, i really enjoy hearing from her and wish i had time to write her but kelsey is my main priority for letter writing!! haha obviously!! but i got a letter from adam that was absolutely HILARIOUS!!!!! i was rolling around laughing cause it was so funny!! him and his brothers went to visit their mom in her mission and went gator hunting. you will have to call them and ask him about it! it was hilarious! but he always shares his testimony and it helps me so much!! they are such an amazing family and strong in the gospel i am so thankful for all their help and support that i get!! tell them that i would love to hear from ALL of them more!!! you should have like a everybody write benetton day on dear elder!! haha i mean everybody!! haha all of our family, kelseys total family, aunts uncles cousins, friends ward members! just an idea?! haha i would love it though!! haha the more letters and love the better i feel and less homesick! I really need to get grandmas email address so that i can write her on here when i am finished writing you all. I hope that everything is going good with grandma? where is she is gonna live? whats going on with that whole situation? Hows the office doing and where did preston get a job? hows the soccer going for ashton? I looked at all the pictures from the packages and i saw the picture of my room and had NO IDEA whose room it was i had to look like twenty times till i realized that it was my room! man i miss my bed! haha and having a tv! and having CARPET!! i really miss that and being able to walk around barefoot anywhere! I loved all the pictures that you sent with your email! its nice to see the whole family and the things that they are doing!! Well i cant wait to hear back from you!
